MARGARITA tiene 29 años. Fue sometida a una laparoscopia ginecológica bajo anestesia general. Refiere que no fuma y que en todas sus cirugías previas ha tenido náuseas y vómito en el postoperatorio.
FELIPE tiene 29 años y acaba de ser sometido a una vítrectomía posterior. Refiere que en las cirugías previas no ha tenido ningún problema. Tiene dolor moderado. Lo van a manejar con Meperidina por horario. No tiene náuseas.
ÓSCAR tiene. 40 años, le acaban de hacer una reconstrucción de cuerdas vocales. Es fumador y refiere que nunca ha vomitado en sus cirugías previas. No tiene náuseas en el momento.
MERCEDES tiene 30 años. Refiere antecedente de náuseas y vómito en los perioperatorios. No es fumadora y acaba de ser sometida a una corrección de una eventrorrafia.
FEDERICO tiene 25 años. Lo operaron esta mañana de una osetosintesis de falange distal del dedo de una mano. Esta en la habitación. Ha vomitado en 5 oportunidades.
JULIO. tiene 45 años. Tiene un linfoma recién diagnosticado. Tiene una masa que comprime el nervio femoral. Tiene dolor de origen mixto. Usted le va a iniciar manejo con morfina y pregabalina.

Dr. TJ Gan is Professor and Chairman of the Department of Anesthesiology at Stony Brook Medicine in Stony Brook, New York.
Previously, Dr. Gan was Professor of Anesthesiology, Vice Chairman for Clinical Research and Faculty Development at Duke University. Dr. Gan is a diplomate of the American Board of Anesthesiology and is a fellow of both the Royal College of Anaesthetists of England. Dr. Gan has been the recipient of the Society for Ambulatory Anesthesia Young Investigator Award and the International Anesthesia Research Society Clinical Scholar Research Award. He serves as the Ambulatory Anesthesia and Perioperative Management Section Editor of Anesthesia and Analgesia and is on the Editorial Board of Perioperative Medicine.
Dr. Gan is also a founding member and President of the American Society for Enhanced Recovery (ASER), a Past President of The Society for Ambulatory Anesthesia (SAMBA) and International Society for Anesthetic Pharmacology (ISAP). He has published over 250 manuscripts in peer-reviewed journals and numerous books and books chapters. Dr. Gan has served as an invited speaker for many national and international professional conferences and as principal investigator or co-investigator for over 100 clinical trials.
